It was a big, bad busy summer.
At the beginning of this period I was still struggling with my health but determined not to let it get too much in the way of my musical and creative endeavours; as it was, this policy turned out very bad for my already shaky health, but good for things to write songs about.
At the end of this period I'd been rescued from a canyon in Mexico, had my toenails removed and been put on a home blood pressure monitor.
However, despite the disappointment of poorliness dragging me home early from the Filey Free Live Music Festival, I did manage to gig in Chihuahua with bandaged feet, make my annual Guest Artist appearance at Tuesday @ The Tap and (just about) survive the wonder of 2009's Springboard Annual Music Festival where I managed to look after the website, make everyone's ID badges, compere for a day and a half and play four gigs.
It's no wonder my blood pressure's sky-high I guess, and I've been told to calm things down. On the downside this has meant that open-mic and other events where I'm not required to be there, I've cut down on.
I intend to be on at least reasonable form for Dougstock 2009, so I shall continue to take it easy until then ...
